Introduction to Lacoste

BY Natasha Bailey ON 13 February, 2026

We have always believed that the best brands carry more than just a logo - they carry a legacy. That’s why we’re proud to introduce our first curated collection from Lacoste: a house built on sporting excellence, timeless design, and a story that begins on the tennis courts of the 1930s.

Founded in 1933 by French tennis champion René Lacoste, Lacoste changed the way athletes, and eventually the world, dressed.

René Lacoste wasn’t just any player. Nicknamed “The Crocodile” for his tenacity on court, he was a multiple Grand Slam champion who understood that performance required freedom. At the time, tennis whites were stiff, long-sleeved, and restrictive. Lacoste envisioned something different: a breathable, short-sleeved shirt in lightweight petit piqué cotton that allowed movement without sacrificing elegance.

The result was the iconic L.12.12 polo, a design that would transcend sport and redefine casualwear.

The embroidered crocodile logo, inspired by René’s nickname, became one of the first visible designer logos worn on the outside of a garment. It symbolised resilience, precision, and quiet confidence - values that still define the brand today.

What started as innovation for elite sport soon moved beyond the baseline. The Lacoste polo became a staple not just in tennis clubs, but in wardrobes worldwide. It bridged the gap between performance and everyday style - effortless, refined, and unmistakably French.

Lacoste’s tennis heritage remains central to its identity. The brand has long-standing ties to the sport and continues to outfit athletes at the highest level, reinforcing the technical roots behind its aesthetic.

Yet Lacoste is more than performance apparel. Over decades, it evolved into a complete lifestyle brand — blending sport, leisure, and understated luxury. Its collections embody a unique balance: relaxed but polished, classic yet contemporary.

At a time when fashion constantly shifts, Lacoste remains anchored in something enduring: heritage with purpose. The brand doesn’t chase trends — it builds on foundations laid nearly a century ago.

For us, introducing Lacoste marks a celebration of craftsmanship, sport-inspired design, and brands with genuine stories. rooted in legacies.

From the clay courts of 1930s France to curated lifestyle wardrobes today, Lacoste continues to prove that true style, like true sport, stands the test of time.
