Introducing Baracuta
BY Natasha Bailey ON 19 July, 2024
Out With Style are proud to be launching Baracuta, the iconic British clothing brand born in Manchester in 1937. Renowned for its timeless outerwear collection, the G9, G4 and G12 silhouettes are some of Baracuta’s most loved styles.
First created in 1937 by the Miller brothers, the G9 silhouette was first retailed in 1938 with the distinctive Fraser Tartan lining, granted to the Millers by Lord Fraser. Design features such as the umbrella back yoke are still unmistakeable today.
The G9 achieved cult status in the 1950s following expansion into the United States and the adoption of the brand by celebrities such as Elvis Presley, James Dean, Frank Sinatra and Steve McQueen. In 1964, the G9 became universally known as the “Harrington” after it was spotted on Ryan O’Neal, who played Rodney Harrington in Peyton Place.
It is for these reasons, we have chosen to focus on the brand’s iconic silhouettes for Out With Style’s first season of the brand. Focusing on lightweight materials, classic patterns and timeless colour palette, we have curated a selection of the styles that embody the spirit of the season.
Remaining true to the brand's British roots, the seasonal campaign is captured in locations synonymous with British culture. From court side to the local chippy, the brand continues to embody itself in British culture and demonstrate its versatility.
